The objective of this project is to work in conjunction with the Volvo Motor Corporation to determine the optimal package of incentives that is required for consumers to purchase a Nanocar given a certain level of support from decision makers. Through the use of a survey, the project aims to reveal the relative level of importance consumers place on various infrastructure and monetary incentives when purchasing a new, small environmentally friendly vehicle. By understanding this concept, the project then aims to take a comprehensive look as to how these incentives can be integrated into society. A key component of this comprehensive view is to gauge the plausibility of implementing the measures derived from the attributes of the survey, from the standpoint of decision makers.

The focus of the survey will be on an individual's primary commute. For some, their primary commute is to work while others have to mainly deal with transportation related issues while running daily errands. Therefore, we have decided to focus on both of these issues as the driving force for implementation. Most importantly, we believe that the findings of this project will become a template for the implementation of alternative advanced transportation systems of the future.
