There are 8 weekly assignments in the class. With the exception of Assignment 1, your assignment will be to prepare a 1-2 page technical brief on a specific issue in applied ecology. For example in Assignment 2 you will be asked to review research predicting how species and/or ecosystems may respond to rapid climate change.
All assignments will be graded on a 12 point scale and will be weighted equally. Your grade will be based on technical accuracy, critical thinking, organization and clarity. Papers must be turned in to Annie Yau before lecture on Monday. Late papers will not be accepted except with FD's consent.
We reserve the right to bump a student's grade up or down one notch (e.g., A to A+) based on their level of participation in lectures and discussion sections.
